September 30, 2007Association of Computer Engineering Students
Central Colleges of the Philippines - Manila
September 28, 2007
Members of the organization, newly elected officers, faculty members coming from the different departments, non-academic members, and school administrators, a good day to everyone!
It's an honor to speak before you on this momentous event of your academic affairs. When I received the invitation a week ago, anticipating the theme for the occasion, at first I was reluctant to acknowledge it, thinking I might have nothing to inspire you. But then on the second thought who am I to refuse this once in a lifetime opportunity?
Looking at you now sets me on backtrack motion, reminiscing those days on my college years. I was once a student just like you. Four years in college is not that easy, most especially when you still linger on high school lifestyles. There was the first moment when you're too excited to begin a new life on college, and there are those emotions where you're mind is in the state of vagueness yet, of what could be the right course you could get into. And there was the actual moment when you are already appreciating the new lifestyle of the college environment.
The enthusiasm yo have towards excelling your academic and social performances alleviates my own perspective that I must continue of what I have started. Now, you are starting to mold yourself in all aspects of academic area. Getting yourself into academic organizations is actually one of the best grounds to enjoy learning, to develop self-awareness, be mentally prepared, and be responsible socially; the camaraderie it offers- the bonding moments you hold on to with your acquaintances, the usual chores for the organization that you withstand to perform with your utmost best, though school activities are on its warming pressure… Saying these things to you now embarks me one more time those days when I'm still actively participating on organization activities. Just like you, I joined the engineering organization know as PHICESS, since I set forth myself in AMA Computer College Makati Campus as a transferee student from PUP. I'm counting on those days where our organization was inaugurated, and we the first batch of officers was there upstage claiming our words of responsibility. It's too overwhelming when the entire crowd sees you holding on to your responsibilities. For the entire years in the organization, dedication and commitment towards work and to my colleagues have been our vital links to continue on aspiring that we are to meet our vision and mission, and direct our paths to be what we should be after we set our foot out of the portals of our dear Alma Matter.
My ground-breaking point for this evening to the newly inducted set of officers, is now you are known and bestowed to carry the responsibilities entrust in you, carry on the torch to success and keep the flame on to meet the horizons of your mission and vision. Guarantee to your members that having them on your clan is worth-staying for, not because of the camaraderie you can give, but all the motivations, and developments on social, morale and academic aspects you can offer.
I, maybe one of the successful individuals on my chosen career path, I maybe one of the certified network engineers in the competitive market of technology solutions, these accomplishments I own now won't be possible if I slipped off the chances during college years.
At this point, officers and members of the entire organization, I'm inspiring you to be at the peak of your career's success. The world is ready to recognize you as professionals in the world of engineering technology.
Thank you very much and good evening…
